Vanni sat curled up on the couch in her home, the afternoon sun casting a warm glow through the windows. She rested a book in her lap, but her eyes barely scanned the words. Her thoughts wandered, a restless energy settling deep within her as the house felt too silent, too empty without Tarun. Days had passed since he left for Russia, and despite her efforts to keep busy with reading, tidying, and cooking, none of it filled the aching void his absence left behind.

A deep sigh escaped her lips as she glanced at the clock on the wall; time crawled by agonizingly slow. Just when the weight of boredom began to swallow her, her phone buzzed on the coffee table. Seeing Tarun’s name flashing on the screen brought an instant smile to her lips as she answered eagerly, "Hey, you!"

    Torn between love and legacy

**Prologue** The night was thick with tension, the air heavy with unspoken words and simmering anger. Zain Singh Rathore stood by the rain-slicked balcony, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles blanched white. The city lights flickered beneath him, indifferent to the storm raging within. Ayesha Rawal’s eyes burned into his, defiant yet soft, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and fury. "You can’t keep pushing me away, Zain. This—us—it’s already breaking." He ran a hand harshly through his dark hair, his jaw tightening. "You don’t understand the world I’m trapped in. The blood, the violence... I’m doing this to protect you." She took a step closer, but the distance between them felt insurmountable. "Protection doesn't mean possession. I’m not yours to control." For a fleeting moment, the possessive anger softened, replaced by a raw need, a desperate ache. He reached out, capturing her wrist, pulling her close enough to trace the heat of her skin beneath his fingers. "You're mine, Ayesha. Always." Their lips met in a fierce, desperate kiss—not tender, but claiming, laced with every dark promise their future held. And beneath it all, the knowledge that love wasn’t enough to save them from the shadows. --- Hey there everyone So here my another school romance story I hope you all like it.
